If asked to an event where you are seated at top table you may well be asked to wear more formal attire than others invited to the same function. It’s best to ask the organisers because your invitation might say "lounge suit" or "dinner suit". You don’t want to be the only one on the top table in a lounge suit when the others are wearing black tie or in some instances white tie.
At Bartlett & Butcher we are often confronted with a dilemma when asked to supply an outfit for a particular function but not advised that the customer has been invited to dine at the top table.Everything required for a top table invite is available to hire or buy from Bartlett & Butcher.
Wedding Top Table
If you are seated at the top table for a wedding, you will be a groom at the wedding breakfast, best-man or the father of the bride or groom. We at Bartlett & Butcher have for over 50 years been supplying weddings where the top table guests all wear the same co-ordinated attire.
Many formal dinners require the top table guests to wear more formal attire. Typically Mansion House functions require a minimum dress of black tie but the top table will be white tie. Bartlett & Butcher need to know which but it is always worth remembering that white tie will never be out of place.
